Market Development Funds (MDF)

Market Development Funds (aka MDFs) are funds paid by a vendor to a partner, such as a distributor or retailer, to help market the vendor’s products. MDF programs can be very loose or very restrictive. Many very large vendors are constantly changing their MDF programs which results in a great amount of friction in the channel. Many kinds of channel partners heavily rely on certification, lead generation and MDFs to support a narrow and specialized selection of brands.
