Verizon + Outlook SMTP Problems? You are a Verizon Spammer
A few hours ago, I noticed I couldn’t send email any more using Outlook when connected to my home network. A little digging shows a note on their website that states since most spam goes through Port 25, they are locking down all email from their customers using dynamic IPs – if you send through a non-verizon address, you have to switch to Port 587.
I guess I should have expected this. One of our customers had trouble receiving download information because Spamhaus is blocking our meshbox.com email. Sure enough, a Spamhaus document mentions treating all Verizon customers using Port 25 as – you guessed it – spammers.
